Bank of America Teammates Turn Out for #NHBanksGiveBack Month

Throughout the month of October, Bank of America teammates in New Hampshire turned out for their community

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Throughout the month of October, Bank of America teammates in New Hampshire turned out for their community as part of the New Hampshire Bankers Association’s #NHBanksGiveBack Month. Volunteers focused their efforts on two New Hampshire organizations with whom Bank of America has longstanding relationships: Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) and the New Hampshire Food Bank.

More than 35 employee volunteers and their families spent over 50 hours crafting and delivering hand puppets for Molly’s Place at Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, which provides a welcoming space and educational resources for patients and their families during hospital visits. Other employees volunteered with the N.H. Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry, which brings food assistance directly to those in high-need and remote areas across the state.

“To continue serving our communities, our local non-profits rely on volunteerism and financial support, provided by companies such as Bank of America,” said Kristy Merrill, President of the New Hampshire Bankers Association. “We’ve asked our members to coordinate their philanthropic efforts to coincide during the month of October this year to highlight their tremendous ongoing effort, reflecting what we’ve known all along - banks in New Hampshire regularly give back to their communities.”

Since 2014, Bank of America has supported Molly’s Place at Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock through grant funding and volunteerism. Molly’s Place was created in 2002 by families and the staff of CHaD to be a welcoming place that provides families with education, information, and community connections. “Bank of America has been an incredibly valued partner for Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) for nearly a decade. From volunteering year-round at CHaD fundraising events to financially supporting vital programs like Molly’s Place – The Family Center, we are so very appreciative of their continued commitment to our young patients,” said Natalie Harrison, Director, Community Relations at Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

For more than 15 years, Bank of America has supported the N.H. Food Bank, which supplies millions of pounds of food annually to more than 400 partner agencies, including food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, children’s programs, senior centers and more. “Bank of America’s generous support of the New Hampshire Food Bank continues to have an incredible impact in our fight against hunger for our food insecure neighbors and friends throughout New Hampshire,” said Eileen Liponis, Executive Director at New Hampshire Food Bank. “Whether through generous funding or their employees’ willingness to roll up their sleeves and volunteer at our mobile food pantries, in our warehouse, culinary training kitchen or production garden, the effect of Bank of America’s support can be seen in the work we do and, in the communities, we serve every day. We cannot thank them enough.”
