Bankers Org Elects Officers, Directors
The New Hampshire Bankers Association announces new leaders for the coming year.

The New Hampshire Bankers Association (NHBA) elected Officers and Directors for the coming year during its Annual Meeting held on Sept. 11, 2015.
NHBA members voted to elect Samuel L. Laverak, president of Meredith Village Savings Bank, as chairman of the Board for the coming year. Laverack, who previously served as vice-chairman, is succeeding Joseph Carelli, president of Citizens Bank NH/VT.
“Sam Laverack’s quiet and determined disposition is something to be admired. Sam’s dedication to the banking industry, its employees, and its customers is a cut above the rest. We are excited to have Sam leading the charge for the 2015-2016 year. I look forward to seeing the progress we achieve and the impact we make moving forward. I very much appreciate his commitment along with the rest of the members of our Board. It is a strong and enthusiastic group of people who will continue the strong advocacy roots of NHBA for its banks and its communities,” commented Christiana Thornton, president and CEO, of the NHBA.

Laverack stated, “The more we know about the impact of the banking industry in NH, the better the New Hampshire Bankers’ Association is prepared to meet our stated goals of promoting the general welfare, usefulness, and public perception of banks and banking institutions to the betterment of New Hampshire, its economy, and all its citizens.”
Also elected to the NHBA Executive Committee were Gregg R. Tewksbury, president of Savings Bank of Walpole, as vice Chairman; Daniel R. Morrison, President of Optima Bank & Trust, as Treasurer; and Mark Pitkin, President/CEO of Sugar River Bank, as Secretary. Ann R. Lally, President of Salem Co-operative Bank, Steve Webb, President-NH of TD Bank, and David P. Mansfield, CEO of The Provident Bank were approved as new members of the NHBA Board of Directors.

Re-elected to the NHBA Board were James J. O’Neill Jr, President of Federal Savings Bank and Richard M. Wallis, President/CEO of Piscataqua Savings Banks. The members also had the opportunity to thank Joseph Carelli, President of Citizens Bank NH/VT, K. Mark Primeau, President/CEO of Bank of New Hampshire, and Kathryn G. Underwood President/CEO of Ledyard National Bank, for their years of service on the Board.
