CONCORD, NH — A fugitive from New Hampshire who fled from a Lakes Region hospital while receiving treatment was arrested in Boston, Massachusetts, on Friday morning by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Anthony Clark, 41, was receiving medical treatment at Concord Hospital-Laconia in Laconia, NH, Sunday while being held on pretrial detention at the Belknap County Jail on strangulation, assault, stalking, and witness tampering charges. He had an ankle monitor, but with associates’ assistance, Clark fled the hospital and escaped.

The ankle monitor was found near the hospital grounds later that day. The task force said in a statement Wednesday that others who assisted him are being charged.

Clark was found in South Boston, MA, on Friday morning by the U.S. Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force, arrested, and charged with violating the fugitive felon act. He will be arraigned in U.S. District Court in Concord, NH, at noon.

According to superior court records, Clark was accused of violating protective orders in December 2022 and January 2023, witness tampering and stalking in February 2023, and violating protective orders in March 2023, all connected to the same case out of Laconia. After being accused of bail jumping in November 2023, a warrant was issued in December 2023, and he failed to appear at a dispositional conference hearing in January. After being captured, he was held on preventative detention.

A bail hearing was held on July 25 and amended to convert to personal recognizance while he received “necessary inpatient medical treatment.”

After being accused of fleeing again, a warrant was issued for Clark’s arrest on July 29.

Clark is due in court for a status conference on Oct. 15 for both cases.
