Boston Man Accused Of Possessing 1.5 Pounds Of Fentanyl

CONCORD, NH — A Boston man was arraigned in superior court Tuesday on a fentanyl dealing charge.

Mariano Andres Santos, 29, of Boston was arrested in North Conway on Friday and held without bail. He was arraigned in Carroll County Superior Court in Ossipee on Tuesday on a single felony count of possession with intent to distribute.

"At the time of his arrest, Mr. Santos was in possession of approximately 770 grams (1.5 pounds) of fentanyl, which was intended for sale in the area," Kate Giaquinto, the director of communications for the department, said.

Santos was arraigned in court on Tuesday and held on preventative detention. Another bail hearing will be held on Feb. 24.

A request to seal the affidavit in the case was approved in court.
