Bugsy Malone Jr. at Rundlett Middle School!

Another fantastic performance by the RMS Performance Ensemble Group! Spend an evening with the gangs of 1920's New York in this fun musical!

It is Thursday April 9. The roads are slick and the crocuses are hidden once again beneath a blanket of snow. It is easy to feel depressed. There is a remedy for this…Rundlett Middle School’s Performance Ensemble Group! “PEG” is holding its Annual Spring Musical and it does not disappoint. Bugsy Malone and his 1920’s New York gang life shenanigans will get your feel tapping!
Bugsy Malone Jr. is an adaptation from the 1977 film Bugsy Malone. Jodie Foster and Scott Baio played the lead roles in a film comprised only of children. The Rundlett Middle School students performance of Bugsy Malone Jr. is excellent.
Director Karen Braz has brought her talent to the middle school this year. No newcomer to the Concord Theater Community her experience with The Community Players, The Children’s Theater Project, The former Kearsarge Area Theater Company and many others shines through in this production. The actors are confident, their voices strong and on key, the dancing superb. A true believer in letting the students take ownership in several technical aspects of the production Karen’s leadership makes them an invested group.
The conflict between Dandy Dan’s Gang and Fat Sam’s Gang, the lovely Louella, the showgirls, and the “splurgers” all combine to take your favorite NYC gangster movie down a notch to good old fashioned fun. The earnest nature of the young actors along with their great talent makes this particular production fun to watch.
The show runs tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at 7:00pm in the RMS new Activity Room. Tickets are available at the door for the very reasonable price of $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Along with supporting your own young actors this is a great chance to support The Arts in Concord. Come find out what a “splurge” is, you will be glad you did!
