Capital Region Firefighters Sent to 4-Alarm House Fire In Epsom: Watch

Fire and rescue teams from Concord and other communities help Epsom firefighters extinguish a house fire on Tuesday on Route 202-Dover Road.

EPSOM, NH — Firefighters from around the capital region were sent to Epsom on Tuesday for a house fire that eventually went to four alarms.

Around 2:15 p.m., a firefighter reported being out at a building fire on Route 202-Dover Road between Old Turnpike Road and Old Dover Road. About a minute later, capital region dispatch sent more Epsom firefighters and requested Northwood and Pittsfield to the scene, too.

Flames were seen coming from the roof of the single-family home at 2:30 p.m. and a second alarm was rung.

The second alarm sent firefighters, engines, and tankers from Allenstown, Chichester, Concord, Deerfield, and Pembroke to assist. Part of the road was also closed. The fire commander also requested Concord Tower 1 ladder truck to the scene to assist.

At 3 p.m., a third alarm rang, sending more firefighters, including Barnstead, Hooksett, Loudon, and Strafford to assist. According to the capital region dispatch website, a fourth alarm was struck later.

The fire commander said most of the fire was knocked down around 3:45 p.m. but firefighters stayed on the scene for an “extensive overhaul.”
