Firefighters had the fire knocked down in about four minutes but they were still overhauling due to other flammable liquids, a commander said. The vehicle was a Kia Soul.
Witnesses said the driver appeared to be running from the scene and officers attempted to look for her to check on her welfare. Officers found her and another woman later at the corner of Capitol and North State streets.
After talking with them, they declined medical attention and appeared to be OK, an officer told dispatch.
