Caught: Tips Lead Marshals to NH Fugitive

Eric Savage is in custody after investigators received information from an anonymous source that last week's Fugitive of the Week report.

CONCORD, NH - Eric Savage, an alleged second-degree assaulter and last week’s New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week, is behind bars, according to U.S. Marshals.

Savage, 27, was arrested last night on Manchester’s North End after an anonymous tipster told police that there might be a wanted fugitive in the parking lot of a local apartment complex.

Manchester Police went to West River Road, found Savage, and arrested him.

“At the time of Savage’s arrest on the outstanding warrant, he was in possession of a knife,” according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White. “Based on Savage’s criminal history, the Manchester Police Department charged Savage with being a felon in possession of a weapon.”

Savage was booked by the Manchester Police Department and held at the Hillsborough County Jail pending his initial court appearance on the outstanding warrant, as well as the new charge.

“We are fortunate to have members of the public who are willing to make a call to the police to help make their communities safer for everyone,” said U.S. Marshal David Cargill in a statement. “Thank you to the anonymous tipster, and to the officers from the Manchester Police Department who quickly acted on this tip and arrested Savage.”
