Why are you seeking elective office?

To continue to try to make a difference in a very contentious climate. Serving on the Commerce & Consumer Affairs Committee, we handle the insurance bills, banking & security, liquor bills and condo bills. We try to work in a bi-partisan manner with respect for different positions, but recognizing each member has experience and perspectives to offer in the discussions.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Education Funding-the Commission to Study School Funding task force has been meeting for months and reviewing the various issues regarding how NH schools are funded. The fairness issue affects students and families from across our state. I will anxiously await their conclusions and proposals and work with others to support solutions.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

Facts are very important as we continue to handle the changes in all our lives due to the COVID-19 virus. We must listen to scientists and make careful decisions as we support our businesses, schools and communities to safely move forward until there is a safe and effective vaccine available.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform

Mental health & substance misuse treatment support, a NH minimum livable wage and residential energy efficiency and school building aid are among my priorities.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have served on the Environment & Agriculture Committee for two terms and the Commerce & Consumer Affairs Committee for two terms. This will be my 5th term serving my constituents in the NH House.

The best advice ever shared with me was …

Listening is more important than speaking.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

Being part of a government that cares for others and those who cannot advocate for themselves is important in our society.
