CONCORD, NH — During the next two months, there will be some shuffling in the city’s assessment department due to a long-time employee retiring.

Kathryn Temchack, who has been the director for many years, will retire at the end of August. A new director, Jonathan Rice, has been hired to start on Oct. 3. In between, Susan Golden, will serve as the interim director.

Rice, who is a native to the city, has “many years of experience” in both assessing and appraising, officials said. Most recently, he was the chief assessor for the city of Rochester.

“I am honored to be named as Concord’s new Director of Real Estate Assessments,” he said. “I look forward to assuming my position on the city’s dedicated management team, working with the hardworking department staff, and earning the trust of Concord property owners.”

According to the city, Rice will earn around $122,000 when he starts. Last year, Temchack’s salary was about $124,000.
