Clinton Makes It Official

Former Secretary of State, Senator announces presidential run; New Hampshire first-in-the-nation primary voters react.

It’s official – Hillary Clinton is running for president.

The former Secretary of State, U.S. Senator from New York, and First Lady announced her intention to seek the Democratic nomination in 2016 on April 12, by releasing a short press statement and online video called “Getting Started.”

The two and half minute video, which, at times, felt more like a Hallmark Card ad than a political announcement, featured various middle-class Americans getting started on something important in their lives. At the end of the ad, Clinton stated that she wanted to be a champion for families in America.
