Concord Arts Market Gets An Early Start on Summer

The market opens in Bicentennial Square on May 16.

Spring was slow to start, but Concord Arts Market is getting an early start on summer, according to a press statement.

The market season starts May 16 this year, with arts, crafts, fine art, factory alternatives, and creative placemaking, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market season will continue weekly on Saturdays through the beginning of October this year, with a final market date of Oct. 3. The market venue, Bicentennial Square, is open free to the public, and wheelchair accessible. Concord Farmers’ Market also opens that day, just two blocks away.

Concord Arts Market features the work of local and regional artists and artisans. Jewelry, handbags, pottery, paintings, notecards, clothing, and more, cycle through the square each Saturday and give visitors a chance to meet the artist face-to-face. Artistic demonstrations, and music are often in evidence as well, adding to the sense of place.
