CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a dead body found inside a vehicle at a local media company on Sunday.

Around 6:45 p.m., police took a report involving an "attempt to locate" case, possibly involving a missing person, and began searching the city for the person and a vehicle. Specifics were not released about the case over the air.

Police searched the Concord Heights, including the Concord Gardens apartment complex, as well as the North End and the Fosterville neighborhood of the city.

After the second officer arrived, they attempted to gain access to the vehicle but were unable to. One officer told dispatch the person appeared to be dead inside the vehicle, a Kia Soul.

About 10 minutes later, Concord fire and rescue teams were requested and were able to gain access to the vehicle and confirmed the person was dead inside.

Just before 11 p.m., firefighters and police confirmed the case was a code gray.

Yellow tape was placed around the scene as police attempted to positively identify the man inside. Officers and dispatch went back and forth with descriptors but were unable to make confirmation from criminal records or a single tattoo descriptor, according to scanner chatter. The dispatcher said they would take the man off the National Crime Information Center list.

Dispatch and officers also tried reaching employees inside the building as well as the owners of other vehicles in the parking lot but were unsuccessful. Dispatch said they had no contacts from inside the company either they could find.

“Copy,” the officer in the field said, “it looks like we have something to do next week.”

Police brought the evidence technician to the scene later.
