Concord Cops Release Robbery Suspect Surveillance Footage: Update
Concord Regional Crimeline Alert: Police seek tips after an armed robbery on Basin Street on Wednesday; one suspect has been cleared.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery on Wednesday.
Around 4:30 p.m., police were called to Basin Street for a report of an armed robbery. According to John Thomas, the deputy chief of the Concord Police Department, a man, claiming to be a building inspector, began interacting with a man at the address.

The suspect, however, was looking for a different man.
During the interaction, the second man showed up, and the suspect then claimed to be a police officer and pointed a handgun at the second man, he said.

“The suspect robbed the (second) individual and a skirmish ensued,” Thomas said. “The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and a wallet.”
At first, the circumstances did not make sense and it was presumed not to be a random attack so police were cautious with the case. During the investigation, dispatch also received a tip about a man, who matched the suspect's description being involved in a similar situation in Bow, according to scanner chatter.
The New Hampshire State Police brought in a K-9 unit to track a scent while police officers scoured the southern part of the city looking for the suspect.
Investigators were able to identify a possible suspect but they were ruled out, Thomas said, leaving police to continue working the case.
“The suspect is still out there in the wind,” he said on Friday.
The suspect was described as a white man, in his 50s, about 6 feet tall, thin, and wearing a long, wool coat with dark, khaki pants and black shoes. He was also carrying a blue and black reusable shopping bag. No one was injured during the incident.
