CONCORD, NH — A leader within the Concord Fire Department is getting help from friends raising money to offset the cost of her cancer treatment.

Concord Fire Deputy Chief of Administration Elisa Folsom has been diagnosed with liposarcoma, a rare cancer, and has begun treatment. Organizer Jennifer Beetz said she has already started chemo treatment in Boston. Each session lasts about three days and there will be frequent sessions.

“Elisa has spent her entire career serving and protecting others with unmatched courage, compassion, and dedication,” she said. “As our fire department’s deputy chief, she has led with strength, empathy, and a selfless heart — always putting the needs of her community and the department before her own. Now it’s our turn to be there for her.”
