A firefighter reported the fire appeared to be contained. A commander requested firefighters open up an inspection cut, to check to see how much the fire had spread beyond the attic, “before you open up too much.”

Just before 9:15 p.m., the commander suggested striking a third alarm.

Unitil was also requested to the scene.

The fire commander stated holes had to be cut into the attic to get water to the source of the fire.

After the entire attic was checked, just past 9:30 p.m., the commander said the bulk of the fire had been extinguished.
