Concord Fire Sent to Blaze Along North State Street
Update: Fire and rescue teams are battling a grass fire between two houses near the Yellow Submarine Sub Shop.

CONCORD, NH — Concord Fire and Rescue teams battled a small grass fire near the Yellow Submarine Sub Shop in the area of Woods Brook, according to posts online. The fire, according to the Professional Firefighters of Concord NH - Local 1045, which posted two photos on Facebook, threatened several structures in the area.
According to Concord Fire Chief Dan Andrus, the fire occurred between two homes just north of the sub shop. Fire teams sent to the scene extinguished a 20 by 20 foot area of grass.
"The crew knocked down the bulk of the fire with a portable extinguisher and Engine 4 thoroughly wet the area on their arrival," he said. "The units were off scene by 8:33 a.m.

The Assistant Fire Marshal investigated and determined the fire cause to be accidental, from a fire pit in the back yard of one of the homes.
"Burning embers ignited nearby brush," he said.
