Concord Firefighters Assist At Northwood 4-Alarm Blaze

Watch: Numerous departments were called to the Masonic Lodge on the 1st NH Turnpike in Northwood Saturday to fight the building fire.

NORTHWOOD, NH — Concord firefighters, as well as others from communities around eastern and central New Hampshire, assisted firefighters in Northwood to battle a 4-alarm building fire Saturday. At just before 9:30 p.m., firefighters were called to the 1st NH Turnpike, Route 4, in Northwood, for a fire at the Masonic Lodge building. When they arrived, they found the building "heavily involved," according to Sean Toomey, a deputy fire marshal.

"The fire went to a 4th alarm with a tanker strike team and brought assistance from multiple fire department," Toomey said.

The origin and cause investigation of the fire is currently active by the state fire marshal's office, and Northwood Fire and Police departments.

Anyone with information about this fire is asked to contact Anthony Booth, a fire investigator with the state, at 603-223-4289, or the Northwood Police Department at 603-942-8284.

The lodge, known as the Morrison Lodge, was constructed in the early-1870s, according to information online, and has been a public meeting space for nearly 135 years.
