CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to a garage fire in Penacook early Monday morning.

Just before 2:30 a.m., Capital Region fire dispatch began sending firefighters to a garage fire on Village Street, mere feet from the Penacook Manor Substation. When they arrived, the fire commander confirmed a large fire in the garage. Minutes later, a working fire was called for Concord.

A Franklin engine and a Hopkinton ambulance were requested to be placed on standby. Engines from Allenstown, Boscawen, Bow, and Manchester and the Penacook Rescue team were asked to go to the city for mutual aid. Around 2:45 a.m., Boscawen informed dispatch they had no personnel available to cover Penacook, so a Loudon engine was requested.
