Concord Firefighters Extinguish Another Homeless Campsite Fire Off Storrs Street: Watch
Police are searching for an arson suspect accused of setting a tent, campsite, and building on fire on Wednesday along the railroad tracks.
CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams and police were sent to the area of Storrs Street for another homeless campsite fire.
Capital region fire dispatch began receiving calls about a fire behind the Granite Group, a plumbing supply business not far from South Main Street, around 1:45 p.m. A dispatcher said they were getting “multiple calls,” and the smoke was seen from a remote camera. One police officer in the field also reported seeing “a whole lot of smoke” in the area, according to scanner chatter.
The first arriving firefighters said the fire was at a campsite between the railroad tracks and a small abandoned old railroad building, which was also on fire. A tent was also burned.
