Concord High School Class Of 1983 Celebrates 40th Reunion: Watch
About 100 former students toured the school, marched in the homecoming day parade, and took in the Pinkerton vs. Crimson Tide game Saturday.
CONCORD, NH — Around 100 former Concord High School students from the Class of 1983 held their 40th reunion on Saturday with a full day of events to coincide with homecoming 2023.
The past four reunion events were scheduled during the Thanksgiving weekend, but the class decided to do something different this year.
After setting up the Faraday Function Center on the Heights for their evening festivities, about two dozen students took a tour of their old school. Some students had not seen the building in decades and were amazed at the transformation during the mid-1990s renovation.

Six former students then marched in the homecoming day parade from the faculty parking lot to Memorial Field to take in the Crimson Tide vs. Pinkerton game (the Astros won, 34-7). The class set up a tent, enjoyed pizza, greeted attendees, and congregated while watching the game.
Class of 2013 football team members were also at the game and given honorary T-shirts. They were the last team to go undefeated and win the division championship.

Later, the former classmates enjoyed drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and getting reacquainted with friends and significant others.
During a speech toward the end of the evening, Matt Finney, the class president, joked about how fearful he was seeing so many characters from the class attending the event. He shared several fun facts about 1983 — including Tom Brady graduating from kindergarten. He noted it was a privilege to grow old; some classmates had passed away and did not enjoy that privilege. Classmates called out the names of some of their former classmates who had died and were missed at the event.
“Eighty-three,” Finney then said, holding up a beer, saluting everyone, “is the place to be.”
The event was so successful that the class is considering hosting another event in five years instead of waiting another decade.
