Concord High School Closed Due to Burst Pipe

Breaking: Both CHS students and voc tech students will get the day off tomorrow due to heat pipe bursting causing extensive damage.

CONCORD, NH — Students at Concord High School and the regional vocational school located on Warren Street will get a day off on Monday after a heat pipe burst causing a flood inside the entire school, according to Concord School District Superintendent Terri Forsten. Forsten sent out an emergency alert on Dec. 4, 2016, informing district students about the closure.

The burst heat pipe was on the fourth floor but sent water throughout the entire building, according to the alert. Forsten said that a crew was at the school working on the cleanup. The pipe bust caused “extensive damage” to 15 classrooms and teacher spaces, she noted.

All other schools will be open, as normal, she noted.
