Concord Man Arrested For Attempted Murder After Not Getting Job
William Soler allegedly admitted to trying to kill employees at the South Main Street Mobil. In 2011, he hit two cops working a detail.

CONCORD, NH — A local man with a history of reckless driving allegedly attempted to kill the managers of a local gas station yesterday after being rejected for a job, according to police. William Soler, 41, of Concord, was arrested on Aug. 24, 2017, and charged with attempted murder, two counts of reckless conduct, and attempted first-degree assault. At just before 2 p.m. yesterday, officers were sent to the South Main Street Mobil for a report of a man attempting to run over people with his car, according to Det. Sgt. Robert Buelte of the Concord Police Department.

“Responding officers spoke with store managers and were told that a man that had applied for a job and was not hired (and) had told them the gas pumps were damaged,” Buelte alleged. “The man then tried to run them over when they went out to check on the pumps. The man struck the protective barrier around the pumps while trying to run over the managers.” (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Concord NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

Police continued to work the case and later, charged Soler. He was held without bail and is due to be arraigned in Merrimack County Superior Court later today.
Soler is no stranger to police. Back in June 2011, he was reportedly struck two Concord Police officers working a detail on Loudon Road. Soler reportedly told police at the time that he accidentally spilled hot coffee on himself, causing him to panic, and step on the accelerator. The two officers were taken to the hospital.
