Concord Man Arrested On Gun Threat Charges After Overnight Manhunt

CONCORD, NH — A man from Concord is facing a slew of charges after being accused of holding a woman against her will with a gun, threatening her, and then fleeing the scene to escape from police.

Around 11 p.m. on Friday, police were sent to Summer Street in Penacook for a disturbance report. An armed man was holding a woman inside a building, according to reports. Police later learned the man, Vincent Perry, 22, of Concord, was accused of threatening the woman with a firearm before fleeing the area.

“Concord police officers located Perry, who matched the suspect description provided by the victim, and engaged in a brief foot pursuit,” Stefanie Breton, a public information officer for the city, said. “The suspect was not apprehended at that time and was last seen on foot in the vicinity of High Street (in) Penacook.”

The New Hampshire State Police were requested to assist in finding Perry using its K-9 unit as well as a helicopter.

Around 3:30 a.m., Perry was found hiding in vegetation around a home on Community Drive in Penacook, Breton said. He was arrested on criminal threatening against a person-deadly weapon, criminal threatening against a person-deadly weapon-domestic violence, and reckless conduct-deadly weapon charges, all felonies, as well as simple assault, domestic violence-simple assault, and resisting arrest or detention charges. Perry was also cited for possessing three-quarters of an ounce or less of marijuana, a violation.

Breton said there was no concern for the public's safety at this time.

Perry is expected to be arraigned in Merrimack County Superior Court on Aug. 1.
