Concord Man Arrested On Multiple Drug Dealing Charges
Fred Emery of Longmeadow Drive is accused of possessing meth, cocaine, and selling heroin to an undercover cop while in front of a child.

CONCORD, NH — A Concord man is facing a slew of drug charges after being arrested earlier this month. Fred Edward Emery, 45, of Longmeadow Drive in Concord, was arrested on sale of a controlled drug-heroin, possession of a controlled drug-suboxone, and three counts of possession of controlled drug-heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine, with intent to distribute, all felonies, as well as a misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child charge on Nov. 7, 2019, after a raid at his home. On that day, a detective, working with a "cooperative individual," was tipped off that Emery was "selling crack cocaine and heroin" out of his home.
Earlier that day, the informant accused Emery of agreeing to selling them $120 worth of heroin, according to an affidavit filed in Merrimack County Superior Court. The detective told the informant to agree to the deal and then, both the informant and the detective, while working in an "undercover capacity," drove to Emery's home. The detective alleged the drug transaction then took place in Emery's home, in front of a young girl, according to the affidavit.
After the alleged drug deal, the detective reported Emery to the Division of Children, Youth and Families, and requested a search warrant for the home. A DCYF caseworker, the detective noted, informed him that she had an open case about the home.

At 6 p.m., Emery's home was raided and he was arrested. During the raid, three adults and four juveniles were in the home, two sitting on a couch and two in another room.
"In Emery's possession (on his person) at the time of his arrest was $1,191 U.S. currency," the detective reported. "Of that U.S. currency, all $120 of the buy funds provided to (the informant) to make the aforementioned heroin purchase were found."

During the search, the detective reported finding a lunch box like container "within arm's reach of the children on the couch" with another $5,670 in cash as well as 20 grams of heroin-fentanyl, 15 grams of crack cocaine, 4 grams of methamphetamine, and 17 suboxone strips, according to the affidavit. Police also allegedly found a ledger "denoting suspected drug sales," baggies, and a digital scale in a bedroom.
Emery was arraigned in court on Nov. 8 and pleaded not guilty, according to documents.
