Detectives and technicians excavated the grounds and sifted through dirt, searching for unknown clues, at a home on Airport Road on Friday.

During the past 30-plus hours or so, and three days in March, police have been at 58 Airport Road searching the property for an unknown reason.

On Thursday afternoon and evening, a single evidence technician vehicle and several officers in hazmat suits were seen digging around the south end of the property as well as accessing a bulkhead and basement. On Friday, a Concord General Services truck and a city excavator were seen at the property. A second evidence truck was also in the driveway of the home.

Earlier on Friday, Deputy Chief John Thomas of the Concord Police Department offered no comment concerning the investigation.

Around 5:30 p.m., the excavator was loaded up on its trailer and hauled away. Detectives were still at the scene, sifting through dirt. A scene security detail has been scheduled for the site overnight, according to scanner chatter.
