Concord Police Investigating Burglary, Assault On The Heights
Update: A man was attacked with a hand-held pitchfork inside a duplex during a burglary attempt on Northeast Village Road on Monday.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police were on the Heights on Monday investigating a possible burglary and assault inside a duplex on Northeast Village Road.
Around 10:45 a.m., officers were sent to the complex after a neighbor reported a man had exited his home, screaming, with a headwound, claiming to have been assaulted during an attempted burglary. The first responding officer confirmed the man had a serious head injury due to a hand-held pitchfork and he believed at least two other men could be in the home or had fled the area.
The officer stated the man knew his assailant and identified him but only knew the second man by a first name. According to posts online and superior court records, the assailant had a number of prior incidents around New Hampshire, including burglary and drug charges, dating back to when he was a teenager.

The officer set up a perimeter around the home as other officers arrived and firefighters staged to get the all-clear. New Hampshire State Police and a Merrimack County Sheriff’s Department cruiser also showed up to assist.
The suspect reportedly ran from the area into the woods traveling west. One suspect was described as around 5 feet, 6 inches tall, wearing gray shorts, a white T-shirt, and having a “666” tattoo on his back.

As officers searched the home for the second suspect, EMTs were requested to assist the victim, according to scanner chatter. Later, officers gave the “all-clear,” signaling the home was secure. The victim was also taken to Concord Hospital and was questioned by police, too.
Dispatch later stated the second suspect might be another person accused in another burglary incident in Concord a few weeks ago who was known to the first suspect.
A state police K-9 unit was called to assist and another officer was stationed across Loudon Road as they searched the woods between the complex and the business district. Other officers were reported searching Eastern Avenue and East Side Drive areas of the city in the early afternoon.
According to Deputy Chief John Thomas, the suspects are still at large. The assault suspect was known to the victim, he confirmed, and police have leads for the second suspect involved in the incident. Thomas said, despite the suspects being at large, there was no danger to the public at this time.
