Daniel M. Goodliff, 23, a homeless man now located in Newport, was arrested at 11 a.m. on July 13, for possession of controlled drugs and two bench warrants. Officers were sent to Dick’s Sporting Goods on Loudon Road for a report from an off duty Newport Police officer that Goodliff was working with a tent company there and he knew he had active warrants. The warrants were for nonpayment of fines out of Newport District Court and nonappearance in court from Claremont District Court. The officers arrived and spoke to three individuals. One called himself “Richard Goodwin” but dispatch could find no information on that name. “Goodwin” reportedly told the officer there was an “e” on the end of the name. Dispatch though failed to find anything on that spelling either. The man reportedly told officers that he didn’t have an ID and they went to speak to the Newport officer who stated that his real name was Goodliff. “I re-approached the subject and said, ‘Daniel,’ and he looked up at me surprised,” the officer alleged. “I asked Goodliff why he lied to me and he told me that he knew that he had warrants and that he needed to work.” He allegedly had a NH ID in his pocket and was taken into custody on the warrants. During processing, the officer allegedly found a plastic sandwich bag with marijuana in it, tucked inside the brim of his hat. Goodliff was held on $445 cash bail.

Jason A. Haywood, of Jennings Drive in Concord, was arrested at 8:37 p.m. on June 9, for simple assault, domestic violence-simple assault, and two counts of resisting arrest or detention. Officers and a sergeant were sent to Jennings Drive for an assault charge. They spoke with Haywood who reportedly stated that he had an argument with a family member about some issues that had surfaced during the past several weeks. The argument went from inside the apartment to outside on Penacook Street, with Haywood reportedly ordering the other person to leave. The officer noted that Haywood didn’t appear to be injured. A report was put out for the family member who was found on the corner of Franklin and North State streets. The person was “covered in dirt” and had several scratches and abrasions. The family member stated that Haywood allegedly had just gotten out of rehab and started drinking again. He reportedly admitted that they both had anger issues. Haywood allegedly began yelling at him about the issues and he left. Haywood, however, allegedly came running out of the apartment, tackled him to the ground, and began hitting him. Four witnesses alleged that Haywood had chased the man, grabbed and tackled him, and was hitting him. Haywood was placed under arrest but reportedly asked to make a phone call to get another family member to come and watch his children. The officer agreed but Haywood allegedly began arguing about the arrest and wanted to have a cigarette. He was told not to and when they were taken from his hand to be cuffed, he allegedly began to fight with the officers. Haywood allegedly continued to resist and fight with the officers while being taken in.

Thomas J. Gillis Jr., 48, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 4:15 p.m. on June 6, for theft by unauthorized taking, a felony, due to two prior convictions. Officers were sent to the Shaw’s Supermarket on D’Amante Drive for a theft report. An employee alleged that a man stole a six-pack of Tuckerman’s Pale Ale. The officer checked the surveillance video and saw that the man appeared to have taken other items, too. Officers searched the area and went to a campsite in a wooded area off Old Loudon Road and allegedly found a man with an open bottle of beer who was wearing the same clothing as the man in the video. The man, Gillis, allegedly had the beer, as well as a chicken salad sandwich and a container of salad. Gillis was arrested and since he was previously convicted of theft in May 1989 in Hillsborough Superior Court and shoplifting in March 2008 in Franklin District Court, the charge was elevated to a felony.

Matthew P. Vassillion, 38, of Flume Street in Concord, was arrested at 10:08 a.m. on June 6, for criminal mischief and operating without a license after incidents on May 10, 2015, at the Corner View Restaurant on South Street and a traffic stop at Sewalls Falls Road and Flume Street about an hour and a half after the vandalism incident.

John E. Jordan, 46, of North Main Street in Boscawen, was arrested at 9:45 a.m. on June 6, on a default or breach of bail conditions charge. Officers were sent to Blake Street for a criminal trespass report about two people entering a home that was soon to be demolished, so the caller knew they were supposed to be there. When the officer arrived, he spoke to the pair and they were loading scrap metal onto a trailer. The officer spoke to Jordan who reported that he had permission to be on the property from a man who put an ad online. Dispatch called an individual who said he was not familiar with the situation and asked that they be removed from the property. He told them call the company in the morning to straighten the situation out. Jordan, however, had a bail issue and was not supposed to be with the woman, since he was previously arrested in May after an incident with the woman. Jordan was then arrested.

Elizabeth A. Kimball, 32, of Downing Street in Concord, was arrested at 6:40 a.m. on June 6, for theft by unauthorized taking, a felony, due to two previous convictions. The incident was at the Cumberland Farms on North Main Street on April 24, 2015.

Shannon Gilmartin, 38, of Royal Gardens in Concord, was arrested at 12:02 a.m. on June 6. An officer was sent to the Friendly’s Restaurant on North Main Street at around 11:30 p.m. to investigate an assault allegedly involving Gilmartin against an employee at the restaurant. The woman alleged that Gilmartin pushed her causing her to fall on the ground. She then went into the restaurant to call police. The officer noted there were items on the ground where she claimed to have been pushed. Other witnesses alleged that they saw Gilmartin run up to the other woman and push her down. The officer spoke to Gilmartin who reportedly stated that she was picking up her son when the other woman began yelling at her. “While speaking to her, Shannon was upset and worked up,” the officer alleged. “I explained to Shannon that she should head home for the night and avoid any contact with (the other woman).” All parties were then released from the scene. But about two minutes later, another person walked up to the officer and told him to head up to Franklin Street where Gilmartin was confronting a woman and others, according to the report. The officer went to the location and alleged that Gilmartin was “still worked up and speaking very loudly” but had completely disregarded the officer’s recommendation to stay away from the woman so she was arrested.
