Concord Police Officer Sent To Hospital After Crash Near Exit 17
An officer inside his cruiser, who was investigating a crash between the Whitney Road roundabout and I-93, was struck by a truck Thursday.

CONCORD, NH — A Concord police officer was taken to Concord Hospital Thursday after their police cruiser was struck on Hoit Road.
Just before 2 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were sent to the area between the Whitney Road roundabout and Exit 17 on Interstate 93 for a report of a crash with injury. The caller told dispatch he was not hurt badly but wanted to get checked out.
One of the vehicles involved in the crash reportedly left the scene, dispatch said.

The first arriving officer said the driver was not injured. He declined to be taken to the hospital by EMTs, the officer said.
Around 2:30 p.m., a Ford super-duty truck reportedly struck one of the police cruisers. The officer was inside and said he was OK. Later, he was to the hospital as a precaution.

Deputy John Thomas said the incident was still under investigation but confirmed the officer was in the cruiser when it was struck and taken to the hospital.
At the same time this was happening, police were sent to a crash at Loudon Road and Exit 14, and other officers investigated a stolen motorcycle case at the McDonald’s Restaurant on Loudon Road.
Officers cleared the scene of the Hoit Road crash around 3:45 p.m.
