The vaults are 8 feet high and are of two sizes: 6 x 6 feet and 8 x 14 feet. The larger vaults weigh 61,000 pounds and come in three pieces. These underground rooms are accessed from above by manholes and will be the hubs for utility connections. Concrete sidewalks will be poured in front of the Smile building during the short construction work week, and the hardscape crew is scheduled to install granite tiles at the bump-out near Gibson’s Bookstore.
