Get Ready for 36 Hours of Market Days Entertainment

42nd Annual Market Days Festival will offer fantastic local music and a lot of family fun, too.

CONCORD, NH – Intown Concord’s 42nd Annual Market Days Festival, presented by NH Federal Credit Union, returns to historic downtown Concord, New Hampshire, in just a couple weeks – Thursday, June 23 through Saturday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. 

Market Days regularly attracts more than 50,000 attendees over the course of three days, making it central New Hampshire’s biggest free community event of the year. The Market Days planning team is pleased to promote a wide variety of FREE fun and entertainment at the festival.

  • Bicentennial Square: Back by popular demand, the Homegrown Music Stage in Bicentennial Square brings three full days of local, independent music. Pull up a boulder and catch some great new acts and local favorites!
  • Eagle Square: Tandy’s Pub hosts the Market Days Idol Competition and Storybook Princess Competition. This year, Market Days Idol contestants will perform all three days to compete for cash prizes and the audience voting will determine the top three performers. Loads of fun, music, and food in Eagle Square.
  • South Main Park Stage: Located on South Main Street near the Concord Food Co-op, is home to more than a dozen local performances over the three days, including demonstrations, singing, and more. Back by popular demand is the Freese Brothers Big Band on Friday at 6:30 p.m. followed by a “Movie under the Stars” hosted by Red River Theatres. This year’s movie is the “The Last Star Fighter,” Friday night at dusk (approx. 9 p.m.). Before the film (8 to 9 p.m.), come play the Sky Fox video game on Red River’s BIG outdoor screen, courtesy of Double Midnight Comics. Bring your lawn chair!
  • Pleasant + Main Intersection: The home of Concord’s fastest, strongest, and most daring, all three days of Market Days! The Pleasant + Main venue offers a large demonstration space for performances. Back for 2016 is the Fire Truck Pull on Saturday, June 25, at 10 a.m., to benefit the Concord Public Safety Foundation. Then, from 3 to 6 p.m., catch the NEW Strong Man Challenge, with some super-strong guys lifting some unbelievably heavy objects.
  • Free Family Fun – Wind down, relax, and get creative at Free Family Fun – on the Statehouse Lawn, behind Memorial Arch. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., kids and families can make crafts, listen to a book reading, relax under a tree, or play a game in the grass.
  • City Plaza: Once again, City Plaza is converted into a kids’ play area, though you don’t have to be a kid to enjoy! Krazy Kids of Concord will have games and bouncy houses, and the third annual Market Days Mini Golf Course, sponsored and built by local businesses, will have 10 custom mini golf course holes to challenge your putting skills. A $5 play-all-day wristband lets you play mini golf and visit the Krazy Kids Play Area throughout the day. This area will be FREE from 10am to 2pm on Thursday and Friday, thanks to ConvenientMD!
  • Touch-a-Truck and Car Show – They are big, they are fast, and they do important stuff: Get close and learn about all types of vehicles and trucks that provide important services to our town and community! Touch-a-Truck will be open 12:00 noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday on North Main Street at Centre Street. On Friday from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Lone Wolf Cruisers Car Club assembles in this location for a Classic Car Show.
  • On Pleasant Street between Main and State streets, look for the Concord Arts Market, returning this year with more than 20 fine art and craft vendors each of the 3 days. It’s a great chance to meet local artists and purchase unique, handcrafted goods directly from the people who make them.
  • Intown Concord’s Beer and Hospitality Tent returns to North Main Street, in front of Capital Plaza. Stop by for a cold beverage and a bit of shade, or to pick up a copy of the official Market Days map and schedule, generously provided by the Concord Insider and Concord Monitor.
  • New for 2016, the Concord Multicultural Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary, 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016, on Statehouse Plaza and Capitol Street.
