PITTSBURG, NH — A Fairfield, Connecticut, man faces charges of operating a snowmobile while intoxicated following a late-night rollover on Friday, February 6.

At approximately 10:00 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers, alongside local emergency services, responded to a report of a single-vehicle snowmobile crash on US Route 3 near Lake Francis. The incident was reported via 911 by a passerby who discovered the scene.

According to investigators, the operator, identified as Tyler Otoole, 35, had departed a local establishment and was attempting to return to his weekend rental when he became disoriented. Otoole reportedly veered off the designated trail system. While attempting to navigate back to the trail, he crossed Route 3, causing the snowmobile to flip in the roadway.

Good Samaritans at the scene were able to right the vehicle and move it out of traffic before authorities arrived.

Personnel from the 45th Parallel EMS and the Pittsburg Fire Department arrived to provide medical aid; however, Otoole refused any medical assistance, reporting no serious injuries.

During the subsequent investigation, Conservation Officers said they observed "signs of impairment." Following a roadside assessment, Otoole was placed under arrest for operating a snowmobile while intoxicated (OWI)

Officers from the Colebrook Police Department assisted at the scene and transported Otoole to the police station for the booking process.

Safety Reminder: New Hampshire Fish and Game officials urge all riders to remain on designated trails and emphasize that operating any off-road vehicle after consuming alcohol is both illegal and dangerous.
