Convicted Burglar Placed On Escape State In New Hampshire

CONCORD, NH — A convicted felon with dozens of previous charges was placed on escape status on Monday after being accused of not returning to a state transitional home when required to.

Clifton R. Caron Jr. left the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester around 9 a.m. for work and traveled by foot. New Hampshire Department of Corrections officials accused him of not returning at 10:30 p.m., as expected.

Caron is 30, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighs 200 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. Caron was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black pants, and black sneakers. He was also carrying a black backpack.

Caron was convicted of a burglary charge and was due to be paroled as soon as July 22.

Caron has a criminal history in the state dating back to 2010, according to superior court records. Some of the charges and convictions include several felony burglaries and thefts, as well as drug possession and violation of probation or parole charges.
