Convicted California Murderer Fingered in 'Allenstown 4' Deaths; Missing NH Woman Presumed Dead

NH AG: DNA to NH killings linked to Robert T. Evans, a convicted murderer who died in 2010. Cops say he may possibly be a serial killer.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and police investigators believe they have the killer of a woman and three children in central New Hampshire during the late 1970s and early 1980s, according to police. Robert “Bob” T. Evans, who passed away in 2010 after being convicted of the 2002 murder of Eunsoon Jun in Richmond, CA, is believed to have murdered both Denise Beaudin, who has been missing since 1981, as well as an unknown woman and three girls whose bodies were found in Allenstown in 1985 and 2000.

Evans – who had numerous aliases – moved to California during the early 1980s with Beaudin and after murdering her at some point, kept her daughter for a few years but then gave up the daughter for adoption. He was arrested numerous times for crimes connected to Beaudin’s daughter – identified only as “Lisa” – and other crimes, including drunk driving, car theft, and other incidents. In 2016, through testing and information, "Lisa" was later identified as Dawn Beaudin, Denise Beaudin's daughter.

Investigators described him as a "strange guy" and "chameleon," who had a proclivity to target women or use them to entice other people he could manipulate or harm.

In 1990, Evans disappeared and was not seen for about a decade, according to investigators. It is believed that he was still living in California at the time. He then popped up on police radar after getting arrested for crimes and using numerous aliases.

Police are now trying to find out the identity of the unknown victims identified as the Allenstown 4, four females found in both 1985 and 2000, inside barrels near Bear Brook State Park.

One of the girls, identified as the middle child, was Evans' daughter, according to DNA testing. The middle child was not related to Denise Beaudin or the others found in Allenstown. The woman, older girl, and youngest girl, don’t have a DNA connection to Evans and their identities are not known. All three were related, according to the data. Isotope mapping tests revealed that they spent most of their lives in the northeast of the country; Evans' murdered daughter spent her short life in the northeast and upper midwest section of the country.

Denise Beaudin is presumed dead, according to investigators, but her body has never been found and investigators have no other information about her death. Investigators believe that she was killed at some point between New Hampshire and California.

The owner of the property in Allenstown was Evans’ supervisor at a mill in Manchester during the late 1970s and 1980s before the mill closed. Evans worked at the mill as an electrician. He also did work on the property near where the bodies were found, according to investigators. Cable used to bind some of the items found near the bodies were made in Manchester. Blunt force trauma was the cause of death of all the victims, investigators noted. They were all dismembered and placed inside barrels on the property.

No remains were found on Hayward Street where FBI investigators were doing work last week.

Evans was described as a heavy drinker and transient, often staying in campgrounds and cheap motels. He may have also had a military background. Evans has been confirmed to be located in New Hampshire, Preston, ID, in the mid-1980s, and then Contra Costa, Felton, Richmond, Scotts Valley, San Luis Obispo, and other locations in California during the mid-1980s until 2002. He spent the early part of his life in Wyoming.

Unconfirmed locations where he may have been during his life include Virginia, Georgia, Hawaii, Missouri, Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, and Oregon.

Investigators are now asking anyone who may have known Evans to come forward with any information they may have in an effort to identify the woman and children found in Allenstown as well as a location for the body of Denise Beaudin. They are also looking at unsolved cases in New Hampshire during the same time period but, at this time, they don't think Evans is connected to any other crimes in the state.

Dawn Beaudin came forward with the information during a process of finding out information about herself and other family members. She gave the information to state officials who began working with California investigators to look at the case.

Dawn Beaudin now has three children and has asked for privacy from the press.
