Convicted New Hampshire Robber Placed On ‘Escape’ Status

CONCORD, NH — Corrections officials in New Hampshire are asking for the public’s help finding a walkaway convict who was placed on "escape" status on Tuesday.

Michael Wells, a convicted robber, signed out of his Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester at just before 9 a.m. on Monday. He was slated to walk to work and return by 10:30 p.m. As of 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, he failed to return and was placed on escape status, according to Tina Thurber of the department.

Wells is 55, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and weighs around 150 pounds. He has hazel eyes and blonde-strawberry blonde hair with a mustache and goatee. Wells also has tattoos on both forearms. He was last seen wearing dark-colored jeans, a navy blue T-shirt, a green hat, and white sneakers.

Wells was due to be paroled sometime after June 2022.
