Convicted Rapist, Stalker Threatens To Kill State Trooper: Court Docs

After being arrested in Henniker and just before arriving at county, Scott Boyd allegedly threatened to "murder" and "whoop" state trooper.

CONCORD, NH — A local man with a long criminal history who was arrested on a parole violation is facing other charges after allegedly threatening to kill a New Hampshire State Police trooper, according to a court affidavit. Scott R. Boyd, 40, of an unknown address, was arrested on July 4, 2017, on three counts of criminal threatening of a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, and obstruction of government administration. Late in the evening of July 3, state police were sent to Henniker to assist with a reportedly extremely intoxicated man causing issues at campsite on Old Concord Road.

A trooper arrived and assisted the officer in speaking with Boyd who was allegedly “extremely intoxicated,” slurring his speech, and unsteady on his feet, which had minor cuts. EMTs were called to assist Boyd with the cuts on his feet before being taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for a parole violation, according to an affidavit. The Henniker officer stayed behind to investigate an alleged domestic disturbance aspect to the incident.

Boyd was reportedly “too intoxicated” to be brought to the men’s prison so the trooper prepared him for transport to the Merrimack County House of Corrections. Once secured in the cruiser, Boyd allegedly “became extremely irate and hostile, banging his forehead on the cage, cutting himself.”

Other troopers arrived to assist while he allegedly “began yelling” and accusing the trooper of smashing him in the head. Boyd was checked out again by EMTs, bandaged up, and transported to the county jail.

The trooper alleged that during the ride Boyd was “extremely irate, combative, and hostile,” and “continued to bang his forehead onto the metal portion of the care in the rear of my cruiser.”

During the ride to Boscawen, three different times, Boyd allegedly made threats against the state trooper, according to an court affidavit. On I-89 South near Exit 5, Boyd reportedly stated, “Just you wait … I won’t be in jail forever and when I get out, you better watch yourself.” As the trooper drove onto I-93 North at the Bow Junction, Boyd allegedly stated, “When I get out, I’m gonna f------ murder you.” At the approach to Exit 17 on I-93 North, he reportedly stated, “When these cuffs come off, I’m gonna whoop your ass.”

The trooper alleged in the affidavit, “During the entire ride, Boyd continued to shout obscenities at me while he banged his head on the cage of my cruiser.”

When they arrived at county, officials refused to take him until he was treated so the trooper transported him to Concord Hospital, according to the affidavit. The trooper alleged that during the ride to Concord, Boyd continued to swear and bang his head inside the cruiser.

At the hospital, as he was about to be escorted inside, allegedly became hostile with nurses and staffers and refused to comply with the trooper’s request to stop fighting.

“Boyd braced himself using his legs and continued to pull himself back inside my cruiser,” the trooper alleged. “During the struggle, Boyd broke his left arm free from my handcuffs by popping the lock during the struggle.”

After he was brought under control, Boyd was strapped to a hospital bed to be treated and then transported back to county. On July 4, he was booked, processed, and held, and video arraigned the next day. SERVPRO was called to clean Boyd’s blood from the cruiser, according to the affidavit.

According to the state of New Hampshire, Boyd was convicted of aggravated and attempted aggravated felonious sexual assault as well as endangering the welfare of a child/incompetent in March 2009, requiring him to register as a sex offender. He was convicted last fall of stalking and violation of a protective order. Also in 2016, he was convicted of criminal trespass and resisting. Boyd was convicted of driving while intoxicated in March 2015.

Before his rape convictions, he was convicted of theft in June 1996, possession in January 1998, three counts of burglary in September 1998, and violation of probation or parole in December 1998.
