Cops: Attempted Drill Thief Made Chicken Noises Before Fleeing

Concord investigators seek info from the public in order to poach man who allegedly tried to steal from Sears. Do you recognize him?

The Concord Regional Crimeline has issued the following alert asking for the public’s help in locating a man who allegedly attempted to steal drills from a local store earlier this month.

According to the report, at around 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 15, 2015, police were sent to Sears on Loudon Road for an attempted theft report of four drills valued at about $900.

Store employees stated that the man placed several DeWalt drills inside a shopping cart and then attempted to exit the store without paying for them.

“When store employees tried to stop this subject, he made what they described as ‘chicken noises’ and fled on foot, leaving the drills behind,” according to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit for the department.

The man then took off toward the rear parking lot of Regal Cinemas just east of Sears.

The alleged attempted drill thief was described as appearing to be white, between 25- and 35-years-old, wearing a long sleeve, black shirt, jeans or sweatpants, with shoes that looked like flip-flops.
