Officers arrived at the scene and found a Chevy Nova with front-end damage on the side of the road. They later learned from dispatch that the Nova was also reportedly seen striking another vehicle parked near Pompanoosuc Mills Furniture.
The driver, Muzzey, was allegedly “stumbling around” the Nova while officers spoke to witnesses. He was bleeding from his nose – due to hitting the steering wheel and not wearing a safety belt, he reportedly stated – while adding that he was fine, according to the arrest report.
“Muzzey had red bloodshot eyes, reeked of an alcoholic beverage, and was having problem just standing without falling over,” the officer alleged. “Muzzey told me that he was coming from a friend’s house on Chapel Street (and) was on his way home”
Muzzey was given a field sobriety test while Concord Fire and Rescue teams were called to the scene to examine him. He reportedly refused treatment, didn’t want to go to the hospital, but did allow his nose to get bandaged up, and was later arrested for DWI.
During a search, police allegedly found a small plastic condiment container full of Lorazepam pills. During an inventory search of the vehicle, police allegedly found a glass pipe with marijuana. The reporting officer alleged that Muzzey continued to stumble around even when he was being held and at one point, fell into a parked police cruiser, according to the report. While sitting down looking at processing information, he allegedly urinated on himself and fell over onto the floor from the sitting position.
“Muzzey had to keep being told to sit down so that he would not fall over,” the officer alleged. “While completing the booking process Muzzey was swaying so much that I had to use a chair and have him sitting in order to take his pictures. Several times while finger printing Muzzey, I had to catch him to keep him from falling over.”
Muzzey had a court date on Feb. 15.
