Crashes All Around the Granite State

Weekend snowstorm leads to accidents on New Hampshire highways; state police cruiser struck on I-93.

Anywhere from three to seven inches of snow is expected at the end of this late January Nor’easter, but even before all the snow had hit the ground, accidents were reported all around New Hampshire.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation as well as New Hampshire State Police began reporting accidents around 9 a.m. on I-93 at the Bow Junction outside of Concord, and later in Tilton, and along parts of I-89 in and outside of Concord and Hopkinton. At around 12:30 p.m., more crashes were reported on I-93 in Windham and Londonderry.

At around 10 a.m., accident reports along I-95 in Hampton and Portsmouth were reported.

At around 11:30 a.m., crashes were also reported along the Spaulding Turnpike.

In Sanbornton around 10 a.m., a state police cruiser was rear-ended on I-93 while on the right side of the road dealing with an accident. While no one was injured, the motorist – Ian Berry, 26, of Barrington – was given a summons for speeding.

Overall accumulations will vary between three or more inches in Concord to four to six inches in Amherst, Salem, Exeter, and Portsmouth, according to forecasters.

The snow is expected to end around sometime between 7 and 9 p.m.
