Crashes All Around New Hampshire
Slippery roads made for a very difficult morning commute; plus, the latest weather forecast.

As many of you already know, the morning commute was, to say the least, a mess, with slippery roads, a number of crashes that blocked highways, in some cases, for hours, and numerous people injured.
Black ice was a problem not long after freezing rain began to fall around the Granite State in the early morning hours on Tuesday.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation dropped the speed limit to 45 mph on the state’s highways after numerous crashes were reported.

Major crashes included one on I-95 south in Hampton at around 2 a.m., a crash on Route 101 east in Raymond at around 6 a.m., a multi-vehicle pile up in the southbound lane of I-93 at the Bow Junction with I-89 in Concord at around 7:30 a.m. that took more than four hours to clear, and a crash on I-93 south in Windham at around 8 a.m. that closed two lanes of the highway.
Later, another crash occurred on I-393 east near Exit 2 in Concord at around 9 a.m., which was quickly cleared. A section of I-293 in Manchester was completely closed to traffic due to the icy road conditions.

A New Hampshire State Trooper was also injured at around 5:15 a.m. this morning while investigating a motor vehicle crash on Route 16 south in Newington.
Updated weather
The National Weather Service has updated its forecast for the Granite State calling for rain, freezing rain, and snow, through Thursday night.
Expect rain tonight, heavy at times, with highs in the mid-30s (slightly warmer on the coast), and winds in the 20 to 35 mph range, and gusts as high as 50 mph, with accumulations reaching a half-inch.
On Wednesday, rain is expected in the morning with sleet in the afternoon, highs in the mid-30s (low 40s on the Seacoast), with a light wind. As much as three inches of rain is possible in some locations, with possible flooding. Overnight, lows drop down into the low 30s with snow possible in the early morning hours.
On Thursday, expect rain and snow showers in the morning, with temps rising to the high 30s (low 40s on the coast) by midday. Snow showers are possible during the evening, with lows in the mid-20s.
