Crashes Reported All Around NH

Accidents close down I-93 as well as parts of Route 101, the Spaulding Turnpike and I-89 this morning.

CONCORD, NH - Numerous crashes, lane closings, and other travel issues have been reported all morning all over New Hampshire highways, according to alerts online.

After the snow began early last night – around 6 p.m. – speeds were quickly reduced on most highways to 45 mph.

Numerous crashes were reported on I-89 throughout the evening and early morning hours, according to the NH DOT.

A number of schools cancelled classes but most issued delayed in order for kids to get into facilities safely.

At around 7 a.m., a crash was reported on the southbound lane of the Spaulding Turnpike in Rochester. A few minutes later, Exeter Police reported a rollover on Route 101 near Exit 12. Police reported on Twitter, “Please slow down,” while adding that fire and rescue teams were also at the scene. The exit off ramp was closed for nearly three hours, according to the NH DOT.

About five minutes later, another accident was reported on I-93 south in Salem that closed down the right lane for more than an hour.

At just before 7:30 a.m., another crash on the Spaulding, this time, at the Dover tollbooth, was reported, causing more delays. At about the same time, an accident was reported on the northbound side of I-93 in Bow causing the closure of the left lane.

About 90 minutes later, a multi-vehicle crash was reported on I-93 south near Exit 8 with multiple injuries. The highway was completely shut down for about 35 minutes, according to alerts. A single lane is open at post time, according to alerts. 

At around 9:15 p.m., as snow stopped falling, speed restrictions began to be lifted on the Spaulding Turnpike and I-89, according to reports online. However, fog remains a travel hazard at post time.
