MANCHESTER, NH — The New Hampshire GOP announced this weekend that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a likely 2024 first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary candidate, will be in the state to keynote the Amos Tuck Dinner on April 14.

The state committee called the event the org’s “biggest and most exciting” dinner to date, with tickets likely to sell out.

DeSantis, who has not decided to run for president but is considered a likely candidate, recently released a new book, “The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival.” The governor has events in both Iowa and Nevada, early primary states, but has previously said he would not announce for president until after the legislative session in the Sunshine State had been completed.

Former Gov. Nikki Haley was in the state last month after announcing she would be running.

Vivek Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur and author, announced he would run late last month.

New Hampshire Liberty Republican activist Aaron Day has also announced he will be running.

Former Cranston, Rhode Island, Mayor Steve Laffey announced last month he was also running for the nomination.

Gov. Chris Sununu is also considering a run, along with many other Republicans.

Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, who had been flirting with a run for many months, announced last week he would not, fearing too many candidates would hand the nomination over to Trump.

On the Democratic side, President Joe Biden has signaled he would be seeking his party’s nomination for a second term, even going so far as attempting to hijack the first-in-the-nation primary from New Hampshire, possibly to solidify his nomination against an upstart challenger.

Marianne Williamson, who ran in 2020 but dropped out before a single vote was cast, is running again in 2024. She crisscrossed New Hampshire last week, making stops in several cities and towns.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also hinted at a possible run when he was in the state last week.

The Republican National Convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in July 2024. The location of the Democratic National Convention has yet to be determined.
