Elderly Hooksett Man Dies On Lake Winnipesaukee: NH Marine Patrol
Plus: Warner man drowns; Mass. teen charged with boating while intoxicated after crashing boat on Lake Sunapee; state police blotters.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol is investigating the death of a man from Hooksett on Sunday on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Around 6 a.m., marine patrol received a call about a boater who was believed to be operating recklessly in Alton Bay. The boat was described as a 14-foot outboard open-style fishing boat that was driving in a couple of fast circles.
“Shortly, thereafter, it came to a stop and was adrift,” Amber Lagace, a public information officer for the department, said. “A good Samaritan boater, who was in the area, approached the vessel and found the single occupant, an elderly male, unresponsive. The good Samaritan called for help, flagged down first responders, and assisted in securing the boat.”

The man, Donald Longhi, 76, of Hooksett, was taken to Concord Hospital-Laconia and pronounced dead.
The cause of the incident is under investigation. Assisting marine patrol was the Alton Fire Department.

Boat Crashes On Lake Sunapee, Teen Charged
A teen from Massachusetts was charged with boating while intoxicated after a crash on Lake Sunapee.
At around 10 p.m., state police dispatch received a call about a boat crash near the Lake Sunapee Yacht Club. Police, firefighters, EMTs, and marine patrol responded to the call and found a 22-foot Mastercraft about 20 feet on shore resting on a steep hill in trees and brush.
“The crash was reportedly heard across the lake at Blodgett Landing in Newbury,” Lagace said.
Two people were still inside and not injured.
The driver of the boat, Michael Smith, 19, of Hingham, Massachusetts, was arrested.
“New Hampshire State Police-Marine Patrol reminds all boaters to maintain a proper lookout and designate a sober operator whenever underway on the public waters,” she added.

Warner Man Drowns In Rindge Pond
A man lost his life on Saturday after drowning in a pond in Rindge.
Around 3 p.m., state police dispatch received a call about a missing person believed to be in Pool Pond. Multiple agencies responded — including marine patrol, New Hampshire Fish and Game, Rindge Police Department, Rindge Fire and Rescue, Jaffrey Fire and Rescue, Winchendon Dive Team, and the New Hampshire Water Rescue Task Force.
“Upon arrival, investigators learned that earlier in the day, the victim’s dog was found swimming in the water with no one around and was brought to shore,” Lagace said. “Shortly thereafter, a family member unsuccessfully attempted to contact the victim and called for help. Personal belongings were also found on a nearby beach.”
Search efforts continued, and more than two hours later, Benjamin Dabuliewicz, 38, of Warner was found about 300-feet from shore, removed from the water, and pronounced dead.

Joseph Savarese, 66, of Amesbury, Massachusetts, was arrested on a driving after revocation or suspension charge in Epping at 8:58 a.m. on May 27.
Edward Mahoney, 59, of Somerville, MA, was arrested at 11:48 a.m. on May 26 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge in Hampton.
Megann Glidden, 35, of Rochester was arrested on a warrant as well as an operating with an expired license-subsequent charge in Dover at 11:46 p.m. on May 25. Tianna Marie Fermino, 23, of Lebanon, ME, was also arrested prior to requisition.
A 16-year-old from Epping was charged with unlawful possession-intoxication in South Hampton at 4:48 a.m. on May 23.

Antone Lewis, 31, of Cranston, Rhode Island, was arrested at 1:06 a.m. on May 29 on driving under the influence and unregistered vehicle charges in Windham. Two others, a 32-year-old man and a 49-year-old man, were taken into protective custody.
Mark Farrell, 37, of Raymond was arrested on a warrant in Manchester at 7:16 a.m. on May 27.
Desmel Cooper, 39, of Manchester was arrested on driving under the influence and driving under the influence-adult less than 0.08; minor less than 0.02 charges in Hooksett at 12:03 a.m. on May 23.
