Elderly Woman OK After Pittsfield Crash

Fire and rescue teams called to River Road on Easter Sunday.

An elderly woman is OK after an early afternoon crash off the side of River Road in Pittsfield on Easter Sunday.

Fire and rescue teams were called to the road at around 1:30 p.m. for a sedan off the side of the road and into the river.

According to witnesses, the woman drove into the river and was assisted by a man in a canoe who paddled out to help her. The woman is 90, and was able to open her window and swim with the canoer. The woman was fine after the accident, according to a witness.
