CONCORD, NH — A woman from Epsom is facing charges after being accused of threatening to kill her ex and encouraging him to take his own life, which he later attempted to do, according to court documents.

A Concord police officer, on Dec. 29, 2025, met with a man in his mid-30s to serve him with a domestic violence order brought by Maddison Faith Corey, 21, of Mountain Road in Epsom, his ex. But while doing so, the man alleged he was the victim in the case and had been since early October 2024. The man claimed Corey had “threatened his life several times” and “made him attempt suicide,” according to an affidavit.

The man showed the officer a text message, purported to be from Corey, which stated, “I will f------ murder you and kill myself if you do not release me on January 2nd,” and “I will murder you and then kill myself,” the report stated.

The next day, a detective took over the case, looked at the evidence, and followed up with the man on Dec. 31, 2025.

During the discussion about the case, the man said he had only provided some screenshots of messages from Corey, the report stated. Since then, he had put together a 244-page PDF for the police and emailed it to the detective. According to the man, the couple began dating in the spring or summer of 2023 and broke up about two years later, the report stated. They did, however, remain in touch, the affidavit said.

The detective asked the victim about a legal statement he had provided to the police. He said it was a “legal document that Maddison drafted” to “release” her by Jan. 2, that he agreed to sign.

The last time they communicated, he said, was Dec. 28, 2025, after she sent a video calling him “worthless” and “disgusting,” the affidavit said. After that, he blocked her, the detective wrote.

The detective looked through the evidence and found 23 separate dates between October 2024 and August 2025 when Corey texted the victim, threatening to kill him, saying “i hate you,” and other statements, according to the affidavit.

During one exchange, where Corey was accused of threatening to kill the man, he replied, “Fine I’ll do it for you then” and “Bye Maddison.” Corey, the detective wrote, replied, “weak ass p----” and “go ahead take the weak out of you f------ p----.”

On Aug. 10, 2025, according to court documents, the victim attempted to take his own life.

On Jan. 2, the detective called Corey and left her a voicemail, and she called back later, they wrote.

Corey, according to the detective, accused the victim of “trapping her in a relationship for the last two years” that she had been trying to leave. When asked why she suggested he kill himself, Corey said she was “not right for doing that, but they were reactions,” the report stated. When asked why she threatened to kill the man twice during exchanges by text message, “Maddison stated, ‘because he traps me. I don’t have a good excuse. I’m just stuck’,” the affidavit said. She claimed she was “forced to be with him,” but did not elaborate. Corey denied the man ever threatened to harm her, the detective wrote, but, on “multiple occasions,” she said, the victim had shown up at her workplace.

The detective asked about the legal agreement, and Corey said she found it online and edited it, the report said.

Later that day, the detective met with the man to confirm the date and time of the death threat texts, the affidavit said. The detective confirmed the text messages were from Corey’s cellphone number based on information Concord police had on file, the report stated. They also confirmed the contact was blocked on Dec. 28, 2025, and there were no new messages from either party, the report stated.

A warrant was issued for her arrest on Jan. 5.

Corey was arrested on harassment, criminal threatening, and domestic violence-criminal threatening charges on Jan. 16. She was arraigned in Concord District Court on Jan. 20. Later, a causing or aiding suicide charge was added to her docket. Corey was later released on personal recognizance. A public defender was assigned to her on Feb. 9. The case was boundover to Merrimack County Superior Court on May 27.

According to a report on Patch, Corey was arrested in May 2024 on domestic violence, simple assault, criminal trespass, and criminal mischief charges after an alleged incident near or at the victim’s North End home.
