Fatal Shooting Investigated In Concord Shopping Center

Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to the Capitol Shopping Center on Monday after a man died due to a gunshot wound.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a fatal shooting at the Capitol Shopping Center on Monday.

At 10:30 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were sent to the parking lot near the Burlington Coat Factory on Storrs Street for a report of a man with a gunshot wound. A woman reported seeing a pickup truck with a man inside who had a head wound and glass shattered on the driver’s side window.

Officers arrived, blocked access to the road and the parking lot, and deployed long-arm rifles before approaching the Dodge truck. Firefighters also staged for police.

The commanding officer reported a man was not moving inside of the pickup truck. An officer secured his handgun and said the man appeared to be deceased. At 10:45 p.m., EMTs confirmed the man had died and returned to service. Police then opened up Storrs Street but kept the parking lot area closed.

Officers were seen taking photos and measurements around the pickup truck before having the vehicle and body taken from the scene later in the evening.

Neither police nor the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office issued a statement about the shooting which usually means the incident was not suspected to be a homicide or murder and the public was not in danger.
