Felon Considered ‘Armed And Dangerous,’ Wanted On Probation Violations
Michael Mooney hasn't been seen in 18 months; was previously convicted of first-degree assault. He also absconded from Arizona supervision.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help finding a reportedly “armed and dangerous” allegedly with “violent tendencies.
Michael Paul Mooney, 47, is white, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighs around 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Mooney has several tattoos, including a tiki statue on his upper right arm, an eye on his right inner bicep, a hot rod on his left shoulder, and the word “antisocial” on his chest.
Corrections said a warrant was issued for his arrest on June 5, 2023, and he has been wanted for probation violations since then.

Mooney, corrections noted, had been convicted several times before — including on drug charges and for felon in possession and first-degree assault, but absconded from supervision when released.
“Based on his criminal history,” an alert stated, “Mooney should be considered armed and dangerous and having violent tendencies.”

Mooney was previously under supervision in Arizona but absconded from that supervision, officials said. He is believed to be somewhere in central New Hampshire.

According to superior court records, Mooney was arrested on first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and criminal threatening charges after a May 2014 incident in Manchester. Nine months later, he reached a plea deal and the second-degree assault charge was nolle prossed. Mooney was sentenced to a three-and-a-half to seven-year sentence, suspended, and a 12-month sentence and given 185 days credit for time served. He was also given two years probation.
Mooney was charged with felony controlled drug: act prohibited after an incident in Antrim in November 2016.
In December 2016, Mooney was accused of violating probation and was sentenced two weeks later to time served, 33 days, and required to complete drug rehabilitation.
Mooney pleaded guilty to the Antrim drug charge in October 2017 and received a two- to four-year sentence and a $434 fine, suspended for three years.
In February 2018, Mooney was accused of acts prohibited in Fitzwilliam. A year later, he pleaded guilty to two counts and received a 12-month sentence and a one-to-two-year sentence and $868 in fines, both suspended for five years with eight days of credit for time served and three years probation.
Court records show that between August 2019 and June 2023, Mooney was accused of violating probation five times.
