Felon Fugitive Arrested Hiding in Apartment: Marshals

Micky Garst Jr., wanted for failure to appear in court on a felon in possession of a handgun charge, was captured yesterday.

CONCORD, NH - U.S. Marshals captured another New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week was caught yesterday, reportedly hiding out in a Kelley Street apartment in Manchester.

Micky Garst Jr. was wanted for failure to appear in Hillsborough County Court on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm last August after a fight in Manchester.

According to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White, task force members received a number of tips that Garst was still in the Manchester area.

The task force “made a concentrated effort” to locate Garst and after several hours of interviews and surveillance, they learned he was “hiding out in an apartment in the 300 block of Kelley Street in Manchester,” White noted.

“Members of the task force approached the apartment and when Garst did not respond to requests to open the door, entry was forced,” White stated. “Once inside the apartment Garst was quickly located and arrested without further incident. Garst was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail, where he will be held pending his court hearing regarding his failure to appear.”

Members of the Hillsborough and Strafford County Sheriff's Offices, the Greenfield Police Department, U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), and deputy US Marshals all participated in the arrest, according to White.
