Fight In Downtown Concord Leads To Cops Tasing A Suspect: Watch

One woman was arrested after a report of a fight at Main and Pleasant streets; witnesses say at least 2 vehicles fled the scene.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent downtown for a report of a fight on Monday that led to a woman being Tased and arrested.

Around 1:15 a.m., police dispatch began receiving calls about a fight on Main and Pleasant streets with multiple people involved and possible injuries. Officers arrived and closed off the intersection to traffic. They began scouring the area, looking for assailants, victims, and witnesses but did not have much luck at first.

“I’ve been canvassing,” one officer said, “and there don’t seem to be any victims or suspects … witnesses seem to be pretty few and far between. We’re still searching, but nothing found yet.”

Dispatch said they might have a witness who left the area because he did not want to be involved in the situation. An officer also reported hearing glass smashing.

Later, an officer spoke to a woman, and another officer told dispatch, “Fight in progress.” A few minutes later, officers said they were on South Main Street and had one person in custody.

Concord fire and rescue teams were requested to assist after a man was Tased by police, according to dispatch. The person checked out OK, the fire commander said, and EMTs cleared the scene.

Another officer spoke with a man on Storrs Street and Pleasant Street Extension. He reported a black SUV, possibly a Cadillac Escalade-type, with several people inside, as well as a white pickup truck with tinted windows with a number of people inside, too, fleeing the area.

“It sounds like it was a general fight,” the officer said.

Later, officers spoke with more witnesses, including one who said glass was smashed and cars fled the area, one from the Endicott Hotel apartments, and the initial caller. Officers also searched the surrounding streets to see if there was any damage to vehicles or buildings.
