Fire Weather Watch Issued for New Hampshire

The National Weather Service calls the current weather conditions "critical"; warns about fire risks.

While it is expected to be a beautiful day today in the Granite State there is also the increased danger of wildfires and brush blaze incidents through this evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The warmer weather – between 76 and 82 around much of the state for May 4, 2015 – combined with dry air, low humidity, and winds of up to 15 mph, are causing concern that brush fires could spread rapidly.

“(The conditions) are close to red flag warning conditions but there is some concern that dew points could be lower than forecast,” according to the alert. “Therefore a fire weather watch has been issued to monitor the situation.”
